Frontline Plus is a monthly topical flea and tick preventative for pets. It kills 100% of adult fleas on your pet within 12 hours and 100% of all ticks and chewing lice within 48 hours.
Frontline Plus for dogs comes in four different pipette sizes for different weight ranges and you should use the whole of the pipette on your dog. For dogs you should apply it on the back of their necks and on their back in a line, this will ensure your dog is fully protected.
Frontline for cats is just as effective and comes in a smaller variety as cat sizes don’t vary drastically from one another. Frontline is applied to the spot between your cat’s shoulder blades on the skin, and then they will be protected for the next month.
After an application, fipronil and (S)-methoprene spread through the oil-rich surfaces of the skin and concentrate in the oil glands to form a reservoir. A small amount is then continuously released onto the skin surface and hair. This provides long-lasting protection and makes it resistant to the effects of water and shampoo. It is not absorbed into the bloodstream of your pet.
Pets may experience some temporary irritation after application.
What special precautions are there?
Not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Keep the product in the original packaging until use, in order to prevent children from getting direct access to the product.
Who manufactured Frontline Plus?
Frontline Plus is made by Merial (Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health).
Two of my cats were having flea-related skin issues. The vet recommended that I switch from the high quality brand I was using to another high quality brand to see if that would produce better results. He recommended Frontline. From the first application, the issues were resolved. This experience showed me that I needed to match my desire for quality with the compatibility of the animal.
