Our Farm

We are the farm! Our co-founder and his family planted the first medjool date palm on their ranch nearly two decades ago in the Coachella Valley of Southern California. We proudly guarantee the entire journey of these organic beauties from the time they leave our palms 🌴 until they land in yours 🤲.

Date trees have one harvest a year.

We have about a month and a half to get all the fruit off the trees.

So harvest is just so critical.

My grandfather started a food store in 1927 which is interesting because that's also the year medjool dates were introduced to the United States.

In 1979, my father and my grandfather decided to purchase 2100 acres in the Coachella Valley.

There was no activity on this piece of land whatsoever.

And now we have a farm.

Uh We're farming 500 acres.

You need a particular kind of soil to grow dates.

You need a lot of sun and you need a lot of water.

We have all those conditions here that make it the perfect environment to grow dates.

If I wanna eat something really like sweet, I'll eat dates because I know that they're organic and that they're natural.

So we decided to go organic very early on because we knew that's the way to go.

That's the way we were feeding our kids and that's the way we were feeding our family.

We want dates to be hand picked.

So they have to run their fingers carefully through the bunches early on to make sure only the right fruit is taken off the tree at any given time.

One of the technologies we use is called the Afron Lift.

And with this lift, three people can now do the work of four and they can do it so much safer for every worker that it makes the job much easier.

Everybody is taken care of and they in turn create a great team.

They're all part of that amazing team of men and women.

There's a number of women out here as well.

I think about what's more Californian, what's fresh, what's more organic than a palm tree from southern California grown right here in your own backyard.

The medjool is known as the king of dates because in Morocco it used to be given to royalty.

It's the biggest date.

It's soft, it's chewy, it's caramely.

It's just one of the best pieces of fruit you could ever eat.
