It’s been 3 days since the horrific, soul shattering and heartbreaking earthquake that hit my beloved home Morocco. 3 days of national mourning for our human losses. 3 days to process my own emotions and most importantly think about actions. Of course, we donated immediately both personally and as a brand to support early responders saving lives on the ground. It was our civic, moral and humanitarian duty. But as we grieve our human losses, we must also prepare for the material, economic, educational, and patrimonial losses. Prepare to rebuild longer than the media coverage will last. Prepare to give back to the country its life and to people their livelihood. And do so in a consistent, sustainable way until we rise again, stronger. Our deeper purpose has always been about spotlighting the Beauty of Morocco, its architecture, its landscape, its rituals, its craftsmanship and most importantly its people. We will continue doing just that, helping rebuild by integrating actions organically and long term in our plans: Supporting Moroccan tourism. Despite the devastating images of the last 3 days, Morocco is still standing, its beauty largely intact and life is taking back its course. And our legendary hospitality is at the ready to welcome everyone in our magical light. The best thing one can do right now to help Morocco is to visit Morocco. And I promise you Morocco will give it back a thousand folds, touching your heart and your soul with a light that you will carry forever. Once in Morocco, always a Moroccan. We will continue telling you magical stories, showing you beautiful places and making you fall in love and visit us. Investing in the impacted areas through our raw material sourcing, future brand shoots and content creation. We already source many of our ingredients from Morocco and work with local talent and we will increase our investments and disproportionately focus on hard hit areas to create more opportunities for our people most in need.
