Does Budget Rent a Car have age restrictions for renting?
It is common for most US corporate-operated rental locations to require drivers to be at least 21 years of age in order to rent a car. However, there are usually additional provisions that renters aged 21-24 must meet before they are given the green light to rent. For instance, they must present a valid credit card and driver’s license in their name and pay a $27/day surcharge. Underage drivers are also not allowed to rent luxury cars, specialty vehicles, mini vans, premium and full-sized SUVs, as well as 12-passenger vans. Will I pay less if I return my car to Budget Rent a Car earlier than my original scheduled date?

Choosing to return the car earlier than scheduled can cause the per-day rate to increase, which could mean that your overall rental fee might even increase. Does Budget Rent a Car charge late fees?
Vehicles at Budget Rent a Car are rented on a 24-hour basis. Returns are given a 29-minute grace period, after which hourly car rates and taxes may apply. After the 90-minute period, full-day charges and taxes may be charged. If you still have not extended the rental after a 7 hour period, an additional $20 per day late fee will be charged.
Are credit cards needed to hold my Budget Rent a Car reservation?
In most cases, no. However, there are locations that may require a credit card especially if you are renting a high-demand car. Some may even require pre-payment in order to secure a rental rate. Your credit card should not be charged when making a reservation except in cases where you choose to make a prepayment. However, a hold will usually be placed on the card at pick up time.
What is Budget Rent a Car’s cancelation policy?
You can cancel your reservation any time online as long as you have the reservation confirmation number and the last name of the renter. If your card was charged when you made a reservation online and you wish to cancel before the rental pick-up time, you will need to cancel and then request the refund online.
If your card details were required but you were not charged at reservation, canceling 48 hours in advance of your pick-up time will not constitute any penalty. Canceling less than 48 hours from pick-up time however might lead to the assessment of a $75 fee.
If you were not required to provide your credit card information when making your reservation, you can cancel your reservation as soon as possible prior to your designated pick up time.
