Summer is wrapping up but things are still getting hotter and hotter. August is going to be a great month, we can feel it in the air! In the spirit of good ol' fashioned planning, we've put together a list of the new things happening and coming out in August that have us most excited!

1. Start of NFL Football - August 3 - The NFL season is (almost) finally here! Sure, August is nothing but preseason games which are typically trash until game 3. But that doesn't mean we can't start getting super excited for our favorite time of the year: football season. 3. Icarus on Netflix - August 4 - Another upcoming Netflix original we are extremely excited for is the documentary Icarus. Icarus tells the many fascinating details of the Russian Olympic doping scandal, investigating figures and events surrounding the sport and Russian politics at large. Needless to say, this is a documentary already being considered an Oscar contender. 
4. Other New Movies on Netflix - August will be a great month for new Netflix movies in general with both The Matrix and Saw series finding their way to the expansive online catalogue next month. Also coming to Netflix in August are Lord of War, Bad Santa, Jackie Brown, The Founder and a handful of other gems!
5. Agents of Mayhem Video Game Release - August 15 - If video games are more your thing, then August should be as exciting a month as any for you too! One of the most anticipated video game releases for August 15 is Agents of Mayhem. Catch the finale on HBO and re-watch it over and over again until the Game of Thrones final season, Season 8, starts next year.
