5 Fun Holidays You Can Celebrate at Home in May 2020

May is almost here, a month that starts with springtime flowers and ends with the feeling that summer has practically arrived. There are a variety of fun holidays to celebrate for both kids and grown-ups alike coming in May 2020! To help give you some ideas, we’ve put together a list of some of the upcoming holidays and activities to make the most of these special days. All five of these May holidays can be celebrated without ever leaving home.

1. Star Wars Day - May 4

If you’re a fan of Star Wars, this is the day for you. Of course, there are plenty of movies and TV shows you can watch to celebrate. But why not try a creative Star Wars-themed project? Try putting together a Star Wars costume for your favorite character with only things you have around the house, or test your acting skills by recreating your favorite scenes. If art projects are more your speed, try some fun DIY Star Wars arts and craft projects, or bake some Star Wars inspired treats. Most importantly, remember that the force is with you!

2. Teacher's Day - May 5

What better time than the end of the school year to celebrate your favorite teacher? Gather up your arts and crafts supplies and get to work on a thank you card for someone who has had a special impact on your education. Teachers do so much for us, and this is the perfect day to let them know how grateful we are for their contributions. Send a special thank you note in the mail or snap a pic of a homemade appreciation poster to let a teacher know you’re thinking of them.

3. Chocolate Chip Day - May 15

Chocolate Chip Day on May 15 is the perfect excuse to break out your baking ingredients and make some chocolatey treats. Chocolate chips make (almost) every recipe better, and you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a ton of easy treats. Experiment with chocolate chip pancakes, chocolate chip banana bread or the classic chocolate chip cookie. To spice up some healthier snacks, try adding chocolate chips to your favorite granola or yogurt. For an extra challenge, find a way to incorporate chocolate chips into every meal of the day!

4. National Wine Day - May 25

For adults, celebrating National Wine Day is a must. While no excuse is needed to enjoy a good glass of wine, this day only comes once a year, so why not make it a special one? Treat yourself to an extra special bottle of wine from one of the many sites offering online wine orders and deliveries. Then, put on your comfiest clothes, sit back and relax. For some added fun, you can set up your own at-home wine tasting event and be your own sommelier. Don’t forget to include some cheese and crackers for your fancy evening. Here are our 5 favorite places to order wine online!

5. Hamburger Day - May 28

Hamburger Day is the official-unofficial start of summer holiday. If you have a grill, this is the day to get outside and start grilling! If you’re up to the challenge, try making homemade burger patties or homemade burger buns to shake it up. Vegetarians can get in on the fun as well. Check out recipes online for veggie burgers and join in the fun! If you’re not so much of a cook, order some take-out burgers from a local restaurant and binge watch some Bob’s Burgers to celebrate instead.
