Labor Day falls on September 2, 2019, this year, and the federal holiday is a popular time to score some serious deals on things like mattresses, clothing, outdoor items and major appliances. Some sales have already started, while some of the most popular retailers haven't yet announced theirs. 

Nonetheless, the Labor Day deals tend to be similar year after year, making this a great time to grab some summer clearance items as well as certain household appliances and tech gear. Here's a sample of items you can expect to save big on this Labor Day.

What to Buy Labor Day Weekend

Mattresses - Whether you have a child heading off to college who needs a mattress, or it's time to replace your own, mattresses can cost a significant amount of money. Labor Day mattress sales can save you quite a bit.
