When you sign up for VINEBOX, you get to take a quiz that will pair you with the best wines for your tastes. Do you like white wines? Choose that as an option and VINEBOX will pair you up with some delicious and crisp white wines in every box. Do you prefer red? Then choose that option and you'll receive all red wines in your box. I decided to go with the option where I receive a mix of both reds and whites, as I prefer more variety. Keep in mind that sometimes they realize that preferences can change over time, and might add a bottle or two that you wouldn't have normally chosen for yourself.

VINEBOX Offers Wine By-The-Glass

Instead of getting one or two full bottles in each box, you actually receive nine different sealed vials that contain your wine - in each vial is a single glass. That's right - you receive your wine in a by-the-glass type of deal instead of in an entire bottle. At first I was skeptical, but it actually works out great if you're like me: eager to discover new wines. It gives you the ability to taste test more wines and find one that you really connect with instead of just one or two bottles that you don't see yourself loving. That's nine glasses of wine per box - all different - so that you can discover what you love. It's always a surprise what wines you are going to get - you can't manually select what you receive - but that makes it way more fun!

You Can Purchase Wines You Love

If you find a wine that you love in a VINEBOX box, you can actually go online and purchase full bottles of the wine. Members also get a $20 or $30 credit (depending on your membership) towards the purchase of full bottles of wine, so if you find something you want to have more of, go for it!

Favorites of My VINEBOX Subscription

There have been so many different wines in the past year that I have been subscribed to VINEBOX, and I have found myself loving a lot of them! Some white, some red - there really are a great deal of choices. A favorite that has been included in a previous box (that I have recently purchased after sampling!) is 2010 Alex Navarra Reserva. This wine from Navarra, Spain is a bold red wine with notes of dark cherry and vanilla. Another favorite is this medium bodied 2012 Château La Tour de Bessan from Margaux, Bordeaux, France. This wine has notes of cherry and peppered fruits. I've tried many white wines with VINEBOX as well, and have found some favorites there, too! First, I loved the 2017 Chardonnay Alto Adige from Alto Adige, Veneto, Italy, which has tastes of crisp apples and fresh flowers, making it perfect for a wine to sip in the afternoon. Another favorite white wine I discovered is 2015 Ducquerie Savennières from Savennières, Loire Valley, France. This nutty flavored wine also has a hint of lemon, making it taste fresh and crisp.

VINEBOX, which has a different theme for each box, is such a wonderful subscription service for those who are looking to try out some new wines. Since they have a by-the-glass format for delivery, you never have to feel as though you have committed to spending too much money on a whole bottle for something t hat wasn't really up your alley. Also, the fact that the subscription is delivered quarterly makes it much more affordable.
