Fandango provides a free service to users which provides information on movie listings, showtimes, and theaters across online and mobile platforms. The service is provided for free to ensure that customers have easy access to information that will help them plan a proper movie trip. Additionally, customers can use the site to book tickets ahead of time and reserve seats.
How do I purchase movie tickets at Fandango?
To purchase movie tickets, just use the search box on the Fandango app or website to locate a showtime and theater where you are. Select a showtime and pick your seats, when seat reservation is available. You can log in to your Fandango account if you have one or you can check out as a guest and enter your payment information. What is the Fandango convenience fee?
Fandango is independent from theaters and they do not receive a portion of theater ticket sales. The small convenience fee that Fandango collects per ticket ensures that they can continue to operate with zero membership fees.
How do I reserve seating at Fandango?
There are select theaters in Fandango that will allow you to reserve exact seats when you buy tickets in advance. You can tell if a theater offers reserved seating as this will be indicated by a “Reserved Seating” icon on the showtimes. After selecting the showtime and the number of tickets, you will be directed to a seat map where you can select a seat. Click here to learn more.
Can I get a refund for my Fandango tickets?
Yes. You are allowed to refund or exchange your tickets up to the start of the showtime of the movie. Just log in to your Fandango VIP account or create one using the same email address you used when purchasing the tickets to start the refund process. Note that there are some instances when you may be asked to contact Fandango customer service or the theater before completing the refund or exchange. Why should I exchange my Fandango ticket instead of getting a refund?
When you get a refund for your movie tickets, the value of the movie ticket will be returned to you minus the Convenience Fee that Fandango charges. When you choose to do an exchange instead, you will have the movie ticket price and the Convenience Fee restored as a credit to your Fandango account, which you can then use when making your next movie purchase. What are Fandango credits?
Fandango credits are dollar value balances deposited within your Fandango VIP account when you make a ticket exchange. They do not have an expiration date and can be used when making any Fandango ticket purchase. To use your credits, just log in to your Fandango VIP account upon checkout and the credit balance will be applied towards the ticket purchase. Note that Fandango credits are non-transferrable.
Does Fandango allow partial refunds?
No. Partial refunds are not available. You can get a full refund or exchange up until the posted showtime of your movie. You have the option to get an exchange or a refund for the entire order minus the Convenience Fee and then repurchase the number of tickets you need. Note that Fandango cannot guarantee that there will still be tickets available, especially for very popular films.
Does Fandango offer discounts for children and seniors?
Discount and age policies vary per theater. Generally, child tickets are considered for kids aged 5-11 and senior tickets are for those aged 65 and over. It is best to check the policy of the individual theater at which you wish to reserve tickets. You may also contact them directly. You can usually find discount and age policies by clicking on a specific theater. You can also find an age policy link on the page where you enter in the number of tickets you wish to purchase. All available ticket categories should also be displayed when you click on a showtime. Just look for “senior discount”, “child discount”, or other similarly named categories.
How do I know if my Fandango ticket purchase was successful?
You should get a confirmation email after successfully purchasing your Fandango movie tickets. If you did not receive one, you can verify the purchase by signing in to your Fandango VIP account and checking your Purchases History. If you have purchased the tickets as a guest, check the spam folder of the email address you used upon checkout, as the confirmation email may be there. For more information, click here.
How do I pick up my Fandango tickets?
After completing your ticket purchase, a confirmation page will appear along with the instructions on how you should pick up your tickets. Depending on the device you’re on or on the theater you have selected, you may be able to pick up the tickets at a theater kiosk with a credit card, at the theater box office, or use a Mobile Ticket. If you have a Mobile Ticket, you can just head to the theater and show the ticket taker the Mobile Ticket on your device.
