What payment options does Korean Air accept?

When can I start reserving Korean Air flights?

Passengers may start reserving flights 361 days prior to their desired departure date. Reserved tickets must be purchased within the period specified when making the reservation. Deadline for ticket purchase is often within a fixed length of time from the reservation date and is generated by the system automatically.

Does Korean Air accept installment payments?

Installment payments are only accepted if the credit card being used was issued in Korea.

What does Korean Air’s codeshare mean?

These are flights that are attached with Korean Air flight numbers but are actually operated by different airlines. Ticket reservation and purchases are usually made through Korean Air but the operating airline counter will process the check-in procedures. The operating airline will also be the one responsible for providing the services

How can I request Korean Air’s advance seat selection?

If you qualify for the advance seat selection, you can make this via ticketing offices, service centers, as well as your travel agency. You may also do this via the website or through the application. Note that this is available 361 days to 48 hours before your departure. For First or Prestige class ticket holders, it is available until 24 hours before departure time.

How can I reserve a seat on the Korean Air website?

If you have already bought a ticket, just select “Seat Selection”. You may also do this by accessing your booking information. Go to “My Reservation” and click the “Seat Selection” option.

Does Korean Air offer web check-in?

Yes. This is available for passengers with a valid e-ticket that are traveling on Korean Air. For domestic flights, this can be done 48 hours to 40 minutes before departure time. For international flights, web check-in is available 48 hours to 1 hour before the flight leaves. Note that for USA, UK, Canada, and Paris fights, web check-in is available 24 hours to 1 hour before scheduled departure. More information on web check-in can be found here.

What is Korean Air’s check-in, closing, and boarding policy?

Check-in for domestics flights is 20 minutes before the scheduled departure. For international flights, check-in is 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

Boarding for international flights begins 30 minutes before the departure time and will close 10 minutes before departure time. For domestic flights, boarding will begin 20 minutes prior to departure schedule and will close 5 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Does Korean Air offer services for infants?

Yes. Children who are 2 years or younger are offered blankets and infant meals but requests must be made beforehand. Travel harnesses and booster seats are also available but this must be booked in advance when you are purchasing the ticket.

Does Korean Air automatically refund tickets for a canceled flight?

Unused tickets due to cancelation of flights are not refunded automatically as they may still be used for another flight. Refund will be provided once a request has been made. Refunds for canceled flights will not be subject to refund penalties.

Does Korean Air offer cash refunds?

Typically, refunds are deposited back to the same mode of payment used when purchasing the ticket. However, if your credit card has been canceled and you wish to get a cash refund instead, refer to a service center or a Korean Air branch to find out about the required documentation and to get appropriate instructions.

Can I receive notifications on my mobile phone regarding changes to Korean Air flight schedules?

If you have provided your mobile number when making your flight reservation, expect that you’ll be notified for schedule changes, canceled flights, seat confirmations, or delayed flights via text messages. Here are the countries where SMS message service is applicable.
